Description

ERVIcontrol to control aphids

Aphidius ervi
ERVIcontrol contains mummies of the parasitic wasp Aphidius ervi. After introducing the parasitic wasp in the crop, they search for the aphid. The adult Aphidius ervi parasitizes on the aphid by drilling a hole in the aphid and laying an egg in its body. Aphids can’t defend themselves against these attacks. The egg hatches inside the aphid resulting in mummification and eventually in a new parasitic wasp.

Aphidius ervi is specialized in parasitizing the larger aphids such as the potato aphid (MAcrosiphum Rosea) Rose aphid (Macrosiphum Rosea), and butterflower aphid (Aulocorthum Solani) and is highly suitable for preventive use. Aphidius ervi can be used in any crop, but above 30°C the activity of Aphidius ervi significantly decreases. Due to the mummies, which remain on the leaf, ervi is mainly used in vegetable crops.

Product characteristics

  • Parasitizes several aphids species
  • Also available as cultivation-specific mixes
  • Use both preventively and curatively
  • Above 30 degrees the parasitic wasp becomes less active

At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
ERVIcontrol is supplied in bottles with buckwheat as carrier material, which protects the mummies from moisture and possible damage during transport.

ERVIcontrol is available in the following packages:

• 250 mummies / bottle (100 ml)
• 1.000 mummies / bottle (100 ml)
• 5.000 mummies / bottle (250 ml)

Aphidius ervi is also available as a mix with other types of parasitic wasps, for the simultaneous control of multiple aphid species.

User instructions
Introduce the parasitic wasps at dusk. Open the package at the place of use. Divide the mummies equally over the surface to be treated. Spread the mummies on sun-sheltered and dry places. Leave the bottle with mummies left behind in a dry and sheltered place. It is recommended to regularly repeat treatment with ERVIcontrol.

Receipt and storage
Upon receipt, check the product for abnormalities and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored horizontally and in a dark place at a temperature of 8-10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for any loss of quality.
