Description

Amblyline to combat thrips

Amblyseius cucumeris

Amblyline contains the predatory mite Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) cucumeris of the family Phytoseiidae. A. cucumeris is probably the best known predatory mite against thrips. The predatory mites run all over the plant and are always looking for food. Besides thrips, A. cucumeris can also survive on pollen and can therefore be used preventively in pollen-producing crops. Amblyseius cucumeris does no damage to the crop or flowers. The predatory mites mainly eat the first larval stage of thrips. In addition, they have a strong side effect on spider mites. Because of their short life cycle they can multiply quickly, their number is part of their strength.

Amblyline should be used in an early stage of pest development. The predatory mite can be used in many different crops where thrips occur.

Product characteristics
• Predatory mites can be used preventively
• Good side effect on spider mites
• Can be used in many different crops
• Available in various formulations

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. They work on the basis of a protocol to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
Amblyline is supplied per 300 Gemini bags (each bag has a minimum result of 2 x 500 predatory mites). The contents of a culture bag consists of various stages of Cucumeris predatory mites, feed mites and carrier (bran). In the bags there is continuous production of Amblyseius cucumeris. Over a period of four to six weeks, dosed large numbers of predatory mites are released from the small holes in the sachet. The bags are provided with a hanging hook which makes it easy to introduce the predatory mites into the crop.

Amblyline is also available as:

  • CRS: grow bag with a hook (minimum result of 1000 predatory mites). Used in vegetable, ornamental and soft fruit crops. Hang the bag with the hook on the stem, a branch or wire.
  • Gemini: waterproof twin bags. Applicable in crops with watering from above.  Fold the twin bag on the tear - rim (with the printed side outwards) and hang it over a trunk, branch or wire.
  • Stick: small grow bags on a stick. Used in propagation and strawberries on racks. Place the stick in the growing substrate close to the plant.
  • Bugline: a ribbon with culture cells. Used in crops that grow in beds / rows or on plant tables. Place the ribbon horizontally between the crop with the printed side up.
  • Loose material: For a quick introduction of predatory mites. Due to the composition of the carrier, the material can be both scattered and blown.

Instructions for use
Keep product cool until use. Allow the product to cool down to (greenhouse) temperature. Prevent too rapid an increase in temperature, this can lead to a temperature shock for the predatory mites. Open the box with the bags in the crop. Tear the bags apart along the perforations. Spread the culture bags as well as possible over the crop. Hang the bags in a place sheltered from the sun. Avoid contact with heating pipes and CO2 pipes. The degree of application always depends on the pest pressure in the crop, so ask the product specialist for the correct dosage.

Storage and transport
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored horizontally and in a dark place in a ventilated room at a temperature of 15-18°C and an air humidity of 70-80% for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for any loss of quality.
