Description

Encarline to combat whitefly

Encarsia formosa
Encarline f. consists of cardboard cards on which Encarsia formosa are glued as black parasitized white fly pupae. A few days after introduction into the crop, the adult parasitic wasps hatch and immediately start looking for white fly larvae. The Encarsia parasitic wasp parasitizes the larva of the whitefly, causing it to die. After a few weeks, a new parasitic wasp emerges from the now black discolored pupa. Because the parasitic wasps depend on whitefly for their reproduction, they show a good search behavior for the whitefly.

Encarsia formosa can be used in almost every crop at temperatures above 17°C (77°F). The parasitic wasp is sensitive to chemicals and the use of sulfur. Take this in mind in order to use Encarsia formosa successfully in both vegetable and ornamental cultivation.

Product characteristics
• Unique adhesive method ensures a high hatch rate.
• Hatch can be checked by means of a hole in the doll.
• The parasitic wasps are mobile above 17°C.

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol, they work to deliver the best quality to the customers. Take a look at the quality protocol for parasitic wasps.

Packaging
Encarline comes on cardboard cards to which the dolls are glued. The unique gluing method of the dolls on the cards guarantees a high outcome percentage of at least 60 dolls per card. The pupae are naturally well protected against outside influences, so that the parasitic wasps are always fresh in the crop and can immediately get to work.

Encarline is also available in packs of 50 cards (3,000 pupae) or 250 cards.
(15,000 dolls) per set. In addition to Encarline, Encarsia is also available in mix packs, in combination with Eretmocerus eremicus. Just like Encarsia formosa, the mix is available in packs of 50 cards (3,000 pupae) or 250 cards (15,000 pupae) per set.

Instructions for use
Open the box in the greenhouse and carefully tear off the individual cards along the perforation edge. Hang the card in the crop using the hanging eyelet. In fireplaces with lots of whitefly it is best to use complete strips. In this way, many parasitic wasps can easily be released on a small area. Do not hang the cards in direct sunlight and avoid contact with the pupae, as this increases the chance of damage to the pupae. Spread the cards over the crop keeping 1 Encarsia per m2, he high pest pressure doubles the dosage. Because whitefly is a pest that can develop quickly, it is advisable to use other pesticides in addition to Encarsia formosa or to correct it in time with integrable agents.

Storage and transport
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored horizontally and in a dark place at a temperature of 8-10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for loss of quality.
