Description

Ephestia khueniella
Ephestia khueniella is the most suitable food for the cultivation of Macrolophus pygmaeus. EPHEScontrol is delivered as sterilized Ephestia khueniella flour moth eggs. The Ephestia eggs are a rich source of protein and serve as food for the predatory bug Macrolophus, If there are not enough white flies.
 
The predatory bugs Macrolophus pygmaeus against white fly, caterpillar and red spider mites is used in the spring mainly in tomato and pepper cultivations. The predatory bugs feed themselves by eating the content of the eggs. By feeding it is possible to build a population of predatory bugs, faster which can be very difficult without adding food.
 
Ephestia khueniella is harmless to the crop because the eggs are sterilized and therefore no larvae will develop from these eggs.
 
EPHEScontrol is well combined with Artemia Cysts.
 
Packaging
Ephestia khueniella is supplied in bottles of 10 or 250 grams of eggs with an orange moisture regulating carrier added.
 
User instructions
Sprinkle the EPHEScontrol over the crop at places where the predatory bugs has been introduced. Lightly wet the crop to increase the adhesive strength. Avoid direct sunlight, but do not spread the Ephestia khueniella too low because of the early removal by leaf picking.
 
Introduction strategy
Introduce 20 to 40 grams per hectare weekly for 2 to 4 weeks. Apply from the moment that the predatory bugs are introduced up to the sign of the first white fly in the greenhouse.

Receipt and storage
Upon receipt, check the product for abnormalities and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored in a dark place at a temperature of 8-10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. Do not freeze the product. When the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for any loss of quality.
