Everything for professional strawberry cultivation

Strawberries can be grown in a variety of ways: from traditional outdoor cultivation, via cultivation in plastic tunnels to greenhouse cultivation. Also among professional strawberry growers, cultivation in special cultivation trays and containers is becoming increasingly popular. By growing strawberries under cover, fruit production is less dependent on climatic factors and the crop itself can be better protected against diseases and pests. All this translates into higher fruit quality and higher yields, and thus an increase in the profitability of the crop.

PlantoSys
PlantoSys is a Dutch company working with Royal Brinkman UK as its distributor. The company develops products to enhance the plant’s own defence mechanisms. Through using salicylic acid and silica the plant’s own defence systems are stimulated. In this way soft fruit in The Netherlands is grown without the use of Paraat and Fenomenal.

Advantages of the PlantoSys in soft fruits
 Less dropout
 Improved plant resilience
 Better root development
UniMite
After an extensive period of research and development, we have achieved a significant milestone in collaboration with Pullens Mechanical Engineering by developing a groundbreaking bio-spreader specifically designed for soft fruit cultivation. This innovative technology has undergone rigorous testing at multiple companies, yielding exceptionally positive results.

Advantages of the UniMite in soft fruits
  Labor saving
  High working speed
  Simple filling system

Bio Chopper
Bio Chopper is an advanced device for eliminating strawberry crop in greenhouse or tunnel conditions. The device can be used for liquidating crops or for seasonal removal of leaves and shoots left over from plant pruning. It efficiently eliminates crops and clears leaves and shoots, utilizing transport mats to transfer the debris into containers or trailers.

Advantages of the Bio Chopper in soft fruits
 Ensures labour savings
Saves space for storage and transport
Effortless removal of greenhouse crops

Pollination of strawberries

To achieve the highest possible crop yields, it is essential to ensure pollination of the flowers on your farm. Naturally present pollinating insects are often not sufficient for this purpose, so that the targeted use of highly efficient bumblebee colonies is advisable, especially in the colder growing season in strawberry crops.

The improved pollination performance will keep your farm competitive.

In our assortment you will find various bumblebee colonies from the supplier Agrobío. Dark earth bumblebees (Bombus terrestris) are one of the most abundant bumblebee species in Europe and are extremely active and industrious pollinators that can be used even in cooler temperatures.

Common strawberry diseases

Strawberries are particularly commonly affected by fungal diseases. A common problem is infestation with Botrytis cinerea (gray mold rot). However, Phytophthora diseases (especially Phytophthora fragariae and Phytophthora cactorum) are also common in strawberrycultivation.

In addition, powdery mildew on strawberries, white spot disease, red spot disease, Verticillium wilt and Mucor are problematic diseases that need to be treated in time.

Pests in strawberry cultivation

Strawberry plants can also be attacked by harmful insects. Thrips on strawberries, red spider mite on the leaves and aphids on strawberries are particularly common.

In our assortment you will find a wide range of sprays for strawberries as well as beneficial insects. We regularly subject our beneficial insects to strict quality controls in order to always offer you the best possible quality.

FRESAcontrol, for example, is a product specially developed to control aphids in strawberry crops and contains a mixture of various ichneumon wasps.

Growing strawberry cultivation

Royal Brinkman offers a wide range of modern products and technologies to increase the efficiency and profitability of fruit cultivation. We offer advice and selection of appropriate products in seven thematic areas: planting, care, protection and disinfection, machinery and equipment, technical projects and packaging.

Proper care of strawberries ensures healthy, lush growth and abundant fruit setting of the plants. The basic care treatments carried out at various stages of cultivation include mulching, irrigation and fertilisation. Depending on the type of cultivation (in soil or in groundless cultivation), these treatments require a different approach and the use of different product groups.
