Description

APHIcontrol Aphidius colemani to control small aphid species

Aphidius colemani
APHIcontrol contains mummies of the parasitic wasp Aphidius colemani. The adult parasitic wasps hatch and parasitize aphids by laying an egg in them. Aphidius colemani has an excellent ability to search. The parasitic wasps depend on aphids to complete their life cycle.
Aphidius colemani mainly parasitizes the smaller aphid species such as Aphis gossypii (cotton aphid), Myzus persicae (peach aphid) and Myzus nocotianae (tobacco aphid).

The parasitic wasps find aphids in the crop even before the aphids can be seen, which is why these parasitic wasps are very suitable for preventive use. Aphids can occur in almost all crops. Aphids cannot arm themselves against these parasitic wasps. Remark with the parasitic wasps is that empty mummies remain on the crop. In some crops this can be at the expense of the ornamental value. In vegetable crops this does not play a role. It is advisable to use parasitic wasps in the greenhouse on a regular basis.

Product characteristics Aphidius colemani
• Rapid outcome
• Good search capability
• Preventive use
• High oviposition of 80 - 100 eggs per day

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol, they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Verpakking Aphidius colemani
APHIcontrol is supplied in bottles with buckwheat as carrier material. Buckwheat offers the mummies the right protection against influences such as moisture and possible damage as a result of shaking and bumping during transport.

APHIcontrol is available in the following packaging:

  • 250 mummies / bottle (100 ml)
  • 1.000 mummies / bottle (100 ml)
  • 5.000 mummies / bottle (250 ml)

APHIcontrol is also available in mix packs with other types of parasitic wasps, so that other types of aphids can be combated at the same time.

Instructions for use Aphidius colemani
Turn off the parasitic wasps at dusk. Open the packaging at the place of use. Spread the mummies evenly over the surface to be treated. Sprinkle the mummies in places sheltered from the sun and dry. Leave the bottle with mummies left behind in a dry and sheltered place.

Storage and transport Aphidius colemani
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately.
