Description

DIGLYcontrol to combat leafminer

Diglyphus isaea
DIGLYcontrol comes in bottles with 250 adults. The parasitic wasp Diglyphus isaea is released to control the leafminer. This black parasitic wasp occurs naturally in the Netherlands and will therefore often occur spontaneously in greenhouses from May onwards. The parasitic wasp feeds by emptying the leafminer larvae of the first and second stage. The Diglyphus isaea also punctures the larvae of the late second and third stage to stun them, after which it lays its eggs next to the larvae. At 20°C the Diglyphus feeds on +/- 70 leafminer larvae and lays 200 - 300 eggs in its life. This ensures that a population of Diglyphus can grow faster than the leafminer population as early as 15°C (86°F). Diglyphus isaea parasitizes the tomato leafminer, floridamine leafminer and the grain leafminer.

Product characteristics
• Curative use
• Also available in a mix pack with Dacnusa Sibirica

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol, they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
DIGLYcontrol comes in bottles with 250 adults. Besides the packaging with Diglyphus isaea there is a mix packaging available of Diglyphus isaea and Dacnusa sibirica called DACNU/DIGLYmix.

Instructions for use
Open the bottle low in the crop, so that the Diglyphus can fly out in search of leafminers. Walk with the open bottle through the crop. When most of the parasitic wasps have fled, place the bottle upright between the crop so that the remaining parasitic wasps can also fly out. DIGLYcontrol is mainly used in spring and summer. At high temperatures the population grows much faster than that of the leafminer. The quantity to be used depends on the pest pressure, the product specialist can advise on this.

Storage and transport
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored horizontally and in a dark place at a temperature of 8-10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for loss of quality.
