Description

AMBLYcontrol (loose) to combat thrips

Amblyseius cucumeris
AMBLYcontrol contains the predatory mite Amblyseius cucumeris of the family Phytoseiidae. A. cucumeris is probably the best known thrips predatory mite. The predatory mites run all over the plant and are always looking for food. Besides thrips A. cucumeris can also survive on pollen and can therefore be used preventively in pollen producing crops. Amblyseius cucumeris does no damage to the crop or flowers. The predatory mites mainly eat the first larval stage of thrips. In addition, they have a strong side effect on spider mites. Because of their short life cycle they can multiply rapidly their number is part of their strength.

AMBLYcontrol should be used in an early stage of pest development. The predatory mite can be used in many different crops where thrips occur.

Product characteristics
• The short life cycle of the predatory mite gives a rapid multiplication.
• Good side effect on spider mites.
• Can be used in many different crops.
• Available in various formulations.

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol, they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
Amblyseius cucumeris is available as a loose material in tubes of 50,000 predatory mites and in bags of 250,000 (5 litres) and 500,000 (5 litres). Due to the composition of the carrier, the material can be both scattered and blown.

AMBLYcontrol can also be supplied as:
- 250 grow bags with hook (minimum result of 1.000 predatory mites per bag)
- 250 grow bags with hook TURBO (minimum result of 1.000 predatory mites per bag)
- 500 mini culture bags without hook (minimum result of 500 predatory mites per bag)

Instructions for use
Keep product cool until use.

  1. Allow the product to cool down to (greenhouse) temperature. Prevent too rapid an increase in temperature, this can lead to a temperature shock for the predatory mites. Keep the product horizontal and out of direct sunlight.
  2. Mix the product well immediately before use. This can be done by gently rotating the bag. Or: sprinkle the contents of the bag in a bucket (>5 ltr) and mix the material in this bucket. By mixing, you achieve a good distribution of mites in the material and later in your crop (so keep mixing the material during insertion).
  3. Shake out the material in small quantities over your crop or use a spreading system if desired. Avoid contact with heating pipes and CO2 pipes. The degree of application always depends on the pest pressure in the crop, so ask the product specialist for the correct dosage.

Storage and transport
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored in a dark place in a ventilated room at a temperature of 15-18°C and a humidity of 70-80% for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for any loss of quality.
