Description

Encarsia mix to control parasitic wasp

Encarsia formosa / Eretmocerus eremicus mix
Encarsia mix contains pupae of the parasitic wasps Encarsia formosa and Eretmocerus eremicus (50/50). These parasitic wasps will jointly control tobacco whitefly, greenhouse whitefly, whitefly and cabbage whitefly.

Encarsia formosa will immediately look for white fly larvae a few days after introduction into the crop. The Encarsia parasitic wasp parasitizes the larva of the whitefly, causing it to die. After a few weeks, a new parasitic wasp will emerge from the black discolored pupa. Encarsia formosa can be used in almost every crop at temperatures above 17°C (77°F).
Eretmocerus eremicus parasitize the larvae of the whitefly by laying an egg underneath it. As soon as the egg hatches, the parasitic wasp larva crawls into the host. The whitefly larva dies after about two weeks. Just before hatching, the pupa will turn yellow. This parasitic wasp also feeds its host by sucking out the white fly larvae. Eretmocerus can be used in almost every crop at temperatures above 15°C (75°F). E. eremicus can withstand high temperatures up to 40°C.

Product characteristics
• Operation on multiple whitefly species
• Parasitization from 15°C
• Eretmocerus eremicus is resistant to high temperatures

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol, they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
Encarsia mix is available on cardboard cards on which the dolls of Encarsia formosa and Eretmocerus eremicus are glued in a 50/50 ratio. Per ticket the result of at least 60 wasps is guaranteed. The pupae are naturally well protected against outside influences, so the parasitic wasps are always fresh in the crop and can immediately start working.

Encarsia and Eremicus are also available separately as Encarline and Eretline in packs of 50 cards (3,000 pupae) or 250 cards (15,000 pupae) per set.

Instructions for use
When using Encarsia mix cards, it is important that the cards are hung where the whitefly lays her eggs. Do not hang the cards in direct sunlight and avoid contact with the pupae as this increases the chance of damage to the pupae. In the period October to March the use of loose material from Eretmocerus eremicus is advised. During this period a result of 30 E. eremicus parasitic wasps per mix card cannot be guaranteed due to unfavourable temperatures. If you do choose to use Encarsia/Eretmocerus mix cards, keep in mind that you will need to use more cards to achieve the desired effect.

Storage and transport
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored horizontally and in a dark place at a temperature of 8-10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for loss of quality.
