Description

Encarsia / Eretmocerus mix to control whitefly

Encarsia formosa / Eretmocerus eremicus mix
Encarsia / Eretmocerus mix contains pupae of the parasitic wasps Encarsia formosa and Eretmocerus eremicus (50/50). These parasitic wasps will jointly control tobacco whitefly, greenhouse whitefly and cabbage whitefly.

Encarsia formosa will immediately search for whitefly larvae a few days after introduction into the crop. The Encarsia parasitic wasp parasitizes the whitefly larva and dies. After a few weeks a new parasitic wasp will emerge from the now black colored pupa. Encarsia formosa can be used in almost every crop at temperatures above 17°C (77°F).
Eretmocerus eremicus parasitize the larvae of the whitefly by laying an egg underneath it. As soon as the egg hatches, the parasitic wasp larva crawls into the host. The whitefly larva dies after about two weeks. Just before hatching, the pupa will turn yellow. This parasitic wasp also feeds its host, sucking out the whitefly larvae.  Eretmocerus can be used in almost every crop at temperatures above 15°C (75°F). E. eremicus can resist high temperatures up to 40°C (104°F).

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol, they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
Encarsia / Eretmocerus mix is available on cardboard cards to which the dolls are glued. The unique gluing method of the dolls on the cards guarantees a high percentage of at least 60 dolls per card. The pupae are naturally well protected against outside influences, so that the parasitic wasps are always fresh in the crop and can immediately get to work.

Encarsia and Eremicus are also available separately as Encarsia formosa (BP) and Eretmocerus eremicus (BP) on cards in packs of 50 cards (3,000 pupae) or 250 cards (15,000 pupae) per set.

At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality control of the beneficial insects. They work on the basis of a protocol in order to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Instructions for use
When using Encarsia / Eretmocerus mix cards it is important that the cards are hung where the whitefly lays her eggs. Do not hang the cards in direct sunlight and avoid contact with the pupae as this increases the chance of damage to the pupae.
