Description

Eretline (maps) to fight white fly

Eretmocerus eremicus
Eretline contains pupae of the parasitic wasp Eretmocerus eremicus. This parasitic wasp parasitizes tobacco whitefly, greenhouse whitefly and cabbage whitefly. The Eretmocerus parasitic wasps parasitize the larvae of the whitefly by laying an egg underneath it. As soon as the egg hatches, the parasitic wasp larva enters the host. The whitefly larva dies after about two weeks. Then, instead of an adult whitefly, a new parasitic wasp hatch. Just before hatching, the pupa turns yellow. In addition to parasitization, Eretmocerus also does host feeding. The white fly larvae are pricked and the contents are used as food.
The parasitic wasp is very mobile and can easily cover large distances. Because of the good search behavior, the control of whitefly by Eretmocerus eremicus is very effective. Originally, this parasitic wasp comes from the desert area of Arizona and California and can therefore tolerate high temperatures up to 40°C. Especially in the summer months it is very effective in the Netherlands.

Product characteristic

  • Wasp does host feeding
  • The parasitic wasp is resistant to a summer climate.
  • The parasitic wasp is mobile from 15°C.

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol, they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
Eretline is available on cardboard cards to which the dolls are glued. In kind, the pupae are well protected against outside influences, so that the parasitic wasps are always fresh in the crop and can immediately get to work.
Eretline on cards is available in 250 cards to 60 pupae (15,000 pupae) per set.
Eretline is also available as a blister pack in the form of 20 blister to 250 pupae or 20 blister to 500 pupae.

Instructions for use
When using Eretline cards it is important that the cards are hung on a place where the whitefly lays her eggs. Do not hang the cards in direct sunlight and avoid contact with the pupae as this can increase the chance of damage to the pupae. In the period October to March the use of loose material from Eretmocerus eremicus is advised. During this period a result of 30 E. eremicus parasitic wasps per mix card cannot be guaranteed due to unfavourable temperatures. If you do choose to use Eretmocerus cards, keep in mind that you will need to use more cards to achieve the desired effect.

Storage and transport
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored horizontally and in a dark place at a temperature of 8-10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for loss of quality.
