Building a sustainable greenhouse in Sweden

KUBO chooses Royal Brinkman as a partner

Ricardo van Zoomeren from KUBO and Roy Wubben from Royal Brinkman
Commissioned by KUBO, we contributed to a unique project in Sweden — a collaboration we look back on with great enthusiasm. The trust that KUBO placed in us is something we are proud of! This assignment gave us the opportunity to apply our expertise and commitment to sustainable horticulture in an innovative and meaningful way.
Sustainable tomato cultivation at Frövi
Frövi Greenery in Sweden showcases sustainable innovation using residual heat from a nearby paper factory and water from a nearby lake.  Utilizing these waste streams significantly contributed to achieving the project's sustainability goals. On behalf of KUBO, Royal Brinkman integrated efficient climate systems and technical solutions that ensure a stable growing environment.

Frövi Greenery now produces 8,000 tons of tomatoes per year and is expanding with an additional 10 hectares.

The advanced water system filters lake water using reverse osmosis. An automatic flushing system ensures a constant supply of clean water and nutrients for the plants.
Electrical engineering Frövi
Electrical engineering
We installed an efficient electrical system with 18 control panels. These panels manage the heating, ventilation and lighting systems. The heating system runs on residual heat from the nearby paper factory.
Hoogendoorn Frövi
Climate control
We installed Hoogendoorn’s advanced IIVO system, which monitors everything from temperature to humidity. The system can be remotely managed by the grower to ensure optimal growing conditions.
