Electrical engineering at Frövi Greenery
An efficient electrical design to connect the sustainable greenhouse
At the Frövi Greenery in Sweden, innovation and sustainability come together. The greenhouse is heated using excess heat from the nearby paper factory, which we've integrated directly to the heating system. By collaborating with the client from the very beginning, we developed the most efficient electrical design for this project.
Efficient electrical design
Frövi Greenery is a unique technical project where sustainability is key. As part of the electrical engineering, we installed all the pumps and control systems to make it possible to use the excess heat from the paper factory. This setup ensured that the heating system could effectively use the excess heat.
We connected all systems and installed 18 control panels for department control, heating and AVS units, along with additional panels for lighting. The technical integration ensures that all systems communicate together, keeping everything operational at all times.

Adapting to the rocky terrain
Remco explains: "One majoy challenge was planning the ground cables due to the rocky terrain. They had to use dynamite to create space." Despite these obstacles, the team developed a detailed excavation plan and coordinated closely with other teams to ensure everything was perfectly aligned. In this way, we ensured that all pipes and cables - for CO2, heating, electricity, and water - were perfectly aligned. This collaboration ensured the success of the project even in the toughest conditions.

Sustainable solution for Sweden's cold climate
The system in the greenhouse consists of three heat sources: the paper factory, two heat pumps, and a bio-oil boiler. These sources can operate independetly or together, optimizing sustainability at all times. The integrated heat system also includes frost protection and snow-melting capabilities, ensuring uninterrupted operations in Sweden's cold winters.
Delivering a fully integrated system
“By working closely with the client and overcoming environmental challenges, we’ve delivered a fully integrated system,” Remco emphasizes. This resulted in a greenhouse equipped to run smoothly under all conditions that supports sustainable agriculture. The project highlights the importance of partnership, precision, and adaptability. At Royal Brinkman Technical Projects, we're proud to be part of this innovative and sustainable project.

Water technology
Our advanced water management system filters the water from the lake through reverse osmosis. The automatic flushing system always keeps fresh water and nutrients available to the plants.

Climate control
We installed Hoogendoorn's advanced IIVO system, controlling everything from temperature to humidity. The system can be managed remotely for optimal growing conditions.
