"Valent Pepper Twine is twine of top quality."
When the life of your crop is literally hanging by a thread, quality should not be an issue. Pepper grower Rob Moors tested Royal Brinkman's new Valent Pepper twine in 2020 and now uses it on his entire 19 ha. "It is strong and does not stretch, so the rows are tight from start to finish. That works well and prevents damage and loss of quality."

Rob Moors from The Netherlands is always willing to try something new. That was also the case when his account manager at Royal Brinkman asked him to try out a new twine before the start of the previous crop. "It had been specially developed for peppers, chillies, cucumbers and eggplants," he recalls. "Valent Pepper was supposed to stretch even less and handle a higher load than the usual twine for peppers, to be easy to handle and a little more economical. Well, I thought: okay, let's use it in practice to see if this is the actual case."
Experiences Kwekerij Moors
Under the motto 'first see, than believe', the grower applied the new wire in a few plant rows and indeed, it did not budge during cultivation. Even on the hottest summer days, when lesser quality wire can stretch a bit and cause the plants to hang more in the path (with a greater chance of damage during work), all the plants stood neatly in line.

"You have to be able to trust twine blindly and that comes at a price. But, Valent Pepper twine costs less than I was used to and that was the deciding factor. According to the specifications, I now have absolute top quality for a great price. I don't need to know much more.

Development of Valent Pepper Twine
Crop Rotation Specialist Martin Meuldijk of Royal Brinkman was involved in the development of this exclusive product, on which not only the producer but also three growers and an independent expert worked together. What makes this twine so special, apart from its competitive price?

The specialist: "It is composed of two types of high quality plastic and two components for UV protection. It is strong and has a very high stretch point. Flexibility is also a requirement: depending on the method of cultivation, there are up to 70.000 pepper stalks on a hectare and you have to tie each twine manually twice. Valent Pepper is at the top of it's weight class."

Hank Neufeld about Valent Clips
"In 2021, we were approached by Royal Brinkman to test their Valent Clips. We found that our clippers could go through the rows faster. Because of hygiene, our clippers must wear gloves. However, they often have to change gloves because a clip tears their glove open. The Valent Clips are smooth and have no sharp edges, thereby they do not tear the glove.
Jac Oudijk about Drygair units
The DryGair units treat the greenhouse air during cultivation, without the need for outside air. All the energy stays in the greenhouse; we don't lose any heat. This efficient way of dehumidifying the air provides energy savings of 40% on our gas consumption.

Tim Prins about the Easy Hook 26 cm
"We were looking for a suitable hook for growing cucumbers. A cucumber plant grows on average 50 to 60 centimetres per week. This is almost twice as fast as a tomato plant that grows an average of 30 to 31 centimetres per week. We were therefore looking for a hook other than the 22 or 24 centimetre hooks we use in tomato cultivation''.
