Description

Eretmocerus eremicus
EREMIcontrol contains pupae of the parasitic wasp Eretmocerus eremicus. The parasitic wasp parasitizes mainly on the tobacco white fly, greenhouse white fly and the cabbage whitefly. The Eretmocerus parasitic wasps parasitize the larvae of the white fly by placing an egg under the larvae. As soon as the egg comes out, the predatory wasp enters the host.  The white fly larvae dies after about two weeks. Just before the outcome, the pupae turns yellow. Now a parasitic wasp will hatch from the pupae instead of a white fly. In addition to parasitization, Eretmocerus will also host-feed, by drinking the blood of the larvae.

The parasitic wasp is very mobile and can easily travel long distances. Due to the good search behaviour, the control of white fly by Eretmocerus eremicus is very effective. Originally, this parasitic wasp comes from Arizona and California desert area, and can endure high temperatures up to 40 °C. Especially during the summer months it can be well used in the Netherlands.

Product features
• The parasitic wasps are well resistant to a summer’s climate.
• The parasitic wasp is mobile from 15°C.
• Eremicus will also host-feed by draining the content of the whitefly  larvae.
• Simply introduce the predatory wasp on a small surface
• Extra high emergence rate because of the loose material
