Chrysal AVB is a pre-treatment agent for ethylene sensitive flowers, which has been made compulsory for many flower species by the Dutch auctions. Chrysal AVB prolongs the vase life of flowers, prevents premature shrinkage and bud, leaf and flower fall.

The active ingredient in Chrysal AVB is silver, for which Chrysal has developed a neutralisation method based on the use of Chrysal Tectitin and Chrysal Flocculine. In this way most of the silver can be recovered before the remaining solution is discarded.

Research

Several studies show that Chrysal AVB is much more effective than products based on Amino-oxy-acetic acid (AOA) orf Methylcyclopropene (MCP) in protecting flowers against ethylene damage and prolonging flower vase life. When used according to the instructions on the label, the product does not harm the environment.
