Entrepreneur Henry Satter, in addition to his 3.2-hectare greenhouse in Gameren, purchased two locations in Zuilichem. Here, he developed a fully modernized new facility of six hectares for Henda Flowers. Henry enlisted Royal Brinkman Technical Projects for the water, electrical, and climate systems. Additionally, project coordinator Aad van der Sman took care of the planning to support Henry.

Eight years ago, Henry Satter started his own chrysanthemum business called Henda Flowers. Since then, the area has tripled with the acquisition of two additional locations. He has developed a fully modernized and future-proof greenhouse here. The focus of this new construction was on energy savings and creating an optimal greenhouse climate. For the realization of this project, Henda Flowers chose to have the water, electrical, and climate systems managed and installed by Royal Brinkman Technical Projects.

The new greenhouse at Henda Flowers is equipped with a fully high-tech irrigation system. This allows Henda Flowers to achieve the highest possible yield and efficiency. To realize this, we chose not to use a standard irrigation system. It is a custom project aimed at achieving the highest possible uniformity of the crop.

• A total of more than 100 irrigation nozzles, with two nozzles per ridge
• Irrigation unit with a capacity of 100 m³/hour
• Separate ring line with its own dosing unit for dosing runoff
• Fully automated liquid fertilizer system
• Reverse osmosis system

The irrigation system provides the chrysanthemums with the right amount of water and nutrients. With the reverse osmosis system, there is always enough clean water available. The automatic fertilizer system fully relieves Henda Flowers by automatically filling the fertilizer tanks with the required nutrients and trace elements.

Royal Brinkman Technical Projects implemented various advanced technologies and systems in the new construction at Henda Flowers. We installed the complete electrical system to control the six climate sections of the greenhouse.

We installed the Priva process computer including automation. This computer controls and manages the systems for cultivation in the greenhouse. Additionally, the Priva process computer wirelessly controls the Full LED lighting. You can adjust the dimming for each string and customize the color of the light.

For the new construction, Henda Flowers chose a fully automatic spray boom: the Alumaster 2.0. The Alumaster is easy to set up and operate with an iPad. Once you press start, it automatically moves through the nursery to complete the task.

To double the capacity, Royal Brinkman installed two 20-liter Dosatron units on the Alumaster. This allows the company to use the machine to its full potential. The lightweight lithium battery sets also enhance the capacity.

Henda Flowers experienced tremendous growth over the past year, expanding from 3.2 to 11.6 hectares. The new construction was completed in a short period, with many parties involved.
