1. Read the instruction manual

How to optimally operate the machine? In which cases can you carry out maintenance yourself and when should periodic maintenance be done by a technician? Every machine should have an instruction booklet stating all this information. It is imperative to read this before first use!

2. Maintenance sheet

For compressors Royal Brinkman has a maintenance sheet available that can be hung visibly in the relevant working area. This is to remind you of the periodic maintenance and in addition you always have a list of the most important checkpoints near. You can also create a schedule yourself, for maintenance on machines and installations.

3. Look and listen to the machine

If, during operation, the machine suddenly makes a noise that you do not recognize, try to listen and look carefully. This will make it easier to explain (on the telephone) to the service or maintenance technician what you hear and/or see. They will sooner get an impression of what could be wrong. Also sending a digital photo in advance is often convenient.

4. Take on small problems in time

Postponing of small repairs could cause increasingly bigger problems and higher costs. The machine will also have a longer lifespan if also small defects are resolved immediately.

5. Take good care of the machine

With the aging of a motor-operated machine, the motor will become polluted from the inside. See to it that you use the correct fuel or oil and frequently change the oil. Our service- and maintenance technicians can provide advice about this.

6. Liquids at the right level

Do not only check the oil level in the (pump) motor every month, but also the batteries. Perform an extra check if the machine has not been used for some time. A simple, but essential Do It Yourself task!

7. Be careful during battery maintenance

The batteries contain a corrosive acid. Therefore, the work activities must be carried out with the greatest care and using suitable protective equipment. When replenishing batteries, use only distilled water.

8. Cleaning and inspecting are also part of maintenance

Also, electrically or hydraulically driven machines require maintenance. A regular cleaning often works magic and on top, you have the opportunity to detect defects. Also, extreme temperatures, moist, dust and dirt may damage the machine in the long run.

9. Working consciously

It is important to act calmly around motor-operated or electrically driven operated machines. By working more consciously, you reduce the load on the motor or battery, tires/wheels/rollers are less subject to wear and you also save fuel, while moving parts last longer.

10. Prepare for maintenance and repairs

By well preparing maintenance and repairs, you can really save money in the long term.
