How does one select the correct plug?

The dripping system is the common irrigation system in the horticulture. Using a plug the feed water is administered to the substrate. This plug is part of a dripper set and is always used in combination with a dripper and microtube. The dripper determines how much water is given to the plant and the plug is used to assess the location of the water supply. The plug also ensures that the microtube remains in place. But how does one select the correct plug? That question will be answered in this article.

Type of plugs

There are several plugs available, but in fact there is not much difference between them. Most plugs come with a dripper set as standard. This is because the relevant plug can usually only be used in combination with a specific dripper. A Cobra S plug, for example, can only be used in combination with a Cobra dripper. Or: you don't need to select the plug yourself, since it comes with the dripper set.

Plugs in different colors

Almost all plugs are available in two colors: black and blue. There is no difference between a blue and a black plug: the plug's color ensures the recognizability in the crop. If, for example, you have two kinds of plants, you can use the blue plug for the one type and the black plug for the other.
