Description
E.C. is the abbreviation for Electrical Conductivity. In English, Electrical Conductivity. This conductivity is a measure of the salt content of a solution. The higher the salt content, the better the solution will conduct electrical current. The conductivity also increases as the temperature rises. Therefore the meter is equipped with an automatic temperature correction, so that at any temperature a correct measure of the salinity is given.
The operation
The E.C. meter consists of two parts;
- The measuring cup
- The meter
The measuring cup
In this beaker the sample is put of which the conductivity is to be measured.
The meter
The electronics in the meter process the data from the the beaker and applies the temperature correction to it. to this data. Then the conductivity appears in milli Siemens.
Properties
EC-meter | ||
Range | 0-20 milli-Siemens
Temperature range | 5 - 35°C
Accuracy | ±0.03 milli-Siemens at 20°C |
Digital EC meter, cup - loose, without case
