Description

MONcontrol mix (loose) to control the white fly and thrips.

Transeius

MONcontrol contains the predatory mite Transeius from the family of the Phytoseiidae. This active predatory mite offers a good control of the white fly, thrips and broad mites. Besides this broad diet it also feeds on pollen and is therefore able to settle in many crops. Female adult mites lay their eggs on leaf hairs. After 1-2  days, these eggs hatch into larvae. After this there are 2 nymphal stages until the adult stage is reached. From the first nymph stage they are predatory. At 25°C, the cycle from egg to adult last for less than 7 days. For the control of trips, this predatory mite has the advantage compared to Transeius cucumeris that they also eat  the second larval stage of the Thrips. Transeius is in comparison to other predatory mites, good resistant against high temperatures and dry conditions. They are also active in the winter at lower temperatures and shorter day light. Transeius montdorensis does not undergo a diapause during winter.

Instructions for use
When MONcontrol is delivered, keep the predatory mites cool until use.

  • Let MONcontrol calmly reach (greenhouse) temperature. Prevent too fast an increase in temperature, this can lead to a temperature shock for the mosquitoes. Keep the product horizontal and out of direct sunlight.
  • Immediately before use, mix the product well. This can be done by gently rotating the bag. Or: sprinkle the contents of the bag in a bucket (>5 ltr) and mix the material in this bucket. By mixing you realize a good distribution of mites in the material and later in your crop (so keep mixing the material during insertion).
  • Shake out the material in small quantities over the crop or use a spreading system if desired. Avoid contact with heating pipes and CO2 pipes, as this will lead to dehydration of the grow bag. Moreover, heat reduces the quality of the predatory mite Transeius montderensis, because they prefer to live in a humid environment

Combining with Power Food
Power Food
contains live mites that are suitable as food for the predatory mite Transeius montdorensis. By systematically feeding predatory mites with Power Food, the predatory mite is able to reproduce and build up a population in the crop, even in the absence of its natural prey. In this way Montdorensis is ready to effectively control thrips, whitefly and spider mites when they appear in the crop.

Dosage MONcontrol
The degree of use Transeius Montdorens always depends on the pest pressure in the crop, therefore ask the product specialist for the correct dosage.

Receipt and storage
Upon receipt, check the product for abnormalities and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored in a dark place in a ventilated room at a temperature of 15-18°C and a relative humidity of 70-80% for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for any loss of quality.
