Description
Efficient sand filtration for various applications
The UDI sand filter provides excellent filtration for different situations through the strength of steel and the durability of plastic, combined with a high working pressure (recommended up to 8 bar).
Advantages of the sand filter
- Efficient filtration: Due to the absence of a pipe construction, a higher water capacity can be filtered.
- Optimal backwashing: Powerful backwashing is possible, extending the lifespan.
- Protective coating: UDI filters are equipped with a special zinc phosphate layer.
- Modular design: All models can be interconnected.
Efficient filtration
The sand filter is designed to maximize the efficiency of the filtration process by optimally utilizing the sand bed. The absence of a pipe construction inside the filter ensures the entire sand bed is actively involved in the filtration process. This prevents dirt from being trapped, allowing the filtration speed to increase without compromising filter quality. As a result, a higher capacity of water can be filtered while maintaining a pure end result.
The filter tanks are equipped with a special filter bottom with removable filter nozzles. This setup ensures stable and even water distribution, enhancing filtration efficiency. The elevated filter bed gives the water more contact time with the medium, improving filtration quality and enabling higher capacities. Additionally, multiple filter layers can be added, further enhancing both capacity and filtration results.
Optimal backwashing
The sand filter allows for powerful backwashing, during which accumulated dirt is completely flushed out of the filter medium. This process can be performed manually or automatically. Proper backwashing extends the lifespan of the filter medium and guarantees effective filtration. Thanks to multiple manholes, the filter can be easily inspected and refilled. This makes filter maintenance less time-consuming.
Protective coating
As preparation for the coating, UDI filters are treated with a special zinc phosphate layer. This treatment ensures good adhesion of the coating and protects against internal rusting. Subsequently, the polyester coating is electrostatically applied both internally and externally and then cured in an oven. The entire process consists of seven steps, resulting in a perfect coating with a thickness of approximately 120 microns.
Modular design
All models, together with suitable flushing valves, can be modularly interconnected into units of any shape and capacity, ensuring continuous service. For this purpose, an extensive range of connecting pieces and quick couplings from the same supplier is available.
Applications of the sand filter
- Pre-filtration for disinfection equipment
- Preparation for micro and ultrafiltration
- Recirculation systems
- Cooling water processes
- Irrigation systems
- Swimming pool filtration
- Basin water filtration
- Groundwater purification
Technical specifications:
- Maximum pressure: 10 bar
- Maximum working pressure (recommended): 8 bar
- Maximum ∆P: 0.5 bar
- pH range: Resistant from 5 to 9
With the sand filter, you choose an excellent solution for your situation. If you want to know exactly how a sand filter works, read the article "How does a sand filter work?". For more information, click the button above to request a quote.
