For the new construction at Beekenkamp Group it was decided to integrate a double hygiene lock to disinfect hands and feet before entry. It was also decided to completely disinfect all water flows by means of UV-disinfection.

In order to prevent the spread of bacteria, fungi and viruses via gloves and shoes of employees and visitors, Beekenkamp has chosen to apply a double hygiene lock. During the new construction, the hygiene lock was integrated in the floor, creating an even surface. 
 
Brushes clean and disinfect the soles of shoes. At the same time, the employee must disinfect his/her hands in the designated hand disinfection chambers. After completing the disinfection, the tourniquet is unlocked, whereupon one person at a time can pass the tourniquet.
 
Optimal hygiene is ensured by the double lock, in combination with protective clothing.   

At Beekenkamp, disease-free cultivation comes first. A continuously good water quality is extremely important. Beekenkamp R&D applies disinfection by use of Huwa-San TR-50 and of oxygen enrichment via the Moleaer system. The silver-stabilized hydrogen peroxide Huwa-San is applied here for the disinfection of the irrigation system during the cultivation, as well as for disinfection of tables and floors, before new plants are being placed.

In order to keep the water system clean during the cultivation and to ensure that no harmful pathogen can infect the plants, during the cultivation a dose of Huwa-San is pulsed continuously, along with the irrigated water. In addition, Beekenkamp invested in a unique solution to separately disinfect the ebb and flow and tables per zone, using a higher concentration of Huwa-San.
