Types of pepper twine

There are different types of twines that can be used for growing peppers. Besides the fact that pepper twine is available in different colours and thicknesses, there is also a choice of different materials. Below you will find an overview to find out what kind of material pepper twine you can use for your pepper cultivation.

Polypropylene twine

A non-biodegradable twine made of plastic material. This pepper twine does not absorb moisture, so there is no risk of twine breakage.


Jute cucumber twine

This twine is taken from plants of the genus Corchorus. The long and soft bark fibres are used to make strong threads. In general, this rope is suitable for growing peppers, green beans, cucumbers and melons. 

Bio Valent twine

A 100% biological compostable twine made of high quality PLA. Valent twine is a twine specially developed by Royal Brinkman and is used for various crops. The cultivation of pepper with high wire hooks is being used more and more by Valent. Of all the types of organic twine, Bio Valent twine is the strongest. In addition, Bio Valent twine absorbs the least moisture, which reduces the risk of twine breakage and fungus.
