Description
Natural and effective whitefly control for various crops.
Optimize crop protection with Encarsia formosa parasitoid wasps for sustainable cultivation.
Benefits of ENCARcontrol:
- High emergence rate: Unique glueing method on the cards ensures a high emergence percentage of parasitoid wasps.
- Easy quality control: Emergence of the wasps can be easily monitored through a hole in the pupa.
- Wide applicability: Encarsia formosa can be used in nearly all crops as long as the temperature exceeds 17°C.
- Quality control by specialists: Royal Brinkman ensures product effectiveness and reliability through rigorous quality checks of beneficial insects.
- Flexible storage: Short-term storage at controlled temperatures is possible, offering logistical convenience.
Effective whitefly control
ENCARcontrol consists of cardboard cards with Encarsia formosa wasps glued as black, parasitized whitefly pupae. A few days after being introduced into the crop, the adult wasps emerge and immediately start searching for whitefly larvae. The Encarsia wasp parasitizes the whitefly larvae, causing them to die. After a few weeks, a new wasp emerges from the now blackened pupa. Since the wasps depend on whiteflies for reproduction, they exhibit strong search behavior for whitefly hosts.
Applicable crops
Encarsia formosa is effective in nearly all crops when day and night temperatures exceed 17°C. The wasps are sensitive to chemical products and sulfur. Consider these factors to ensure successful use of Encarsia formosa in both vegetable and ornamental crops.
Quality control
A team of specialists at Royal Brinkman checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites, and nematodes. View the quality protocol for parasitoid wasps for more details.
Instructions for use
Open the box inside the greenhouse and carefully tear individual cards along the perforation line. Hang the cards in the crop using the provided hanging loop. In areas with heavy whitefly infestations, complete strips can be used to release a larger number of wasps in a concentrated area. Avoid hanging cards in direct sunlight and avoid contact with the pupae to prevent damage. Distribute the cards evenly across the crop, maintaining a density of one Encarsia per m². For heavy infestations, double the dosage. Since whitefly infestations can escalate quickly, consider using additional biological control agents or integrating compatible products to manage the pest effectively.
Packaging
ENCARcontrol is available as cardboard cards with glued pupae, pellets containing pupae, or loose dispersal material. Mix packages with Encarsia formosa and Eretmocerus eremicus are also available.
Storage and transport
Inspect the product upon receipt for any irregularities and report any complaints or issues within 24 hours. Use the product immediately for best results. If storage is required, keep the product horizontally and in darkness at a temperature of 8–10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. Royal Brinkman is not responsible for quality loss if the product is stored for longer periods or under different conditions.
