Bug zapper lights, also called insect zappers, are used to control flying insects. Flying insects can cause considerable damage to the crop. Royal Brinkman has two insect lamps in its range: Ferrx UVA insect lamp and the CRI CRI.

The Ferrx lamp is a UV insect or bug zapper light that emits UV light, among other things. Insects can perceive the UV light and are attracted to the bug zapper light. People cannot see UV light. The Ferrx UVA insect zapper has a special coating combined with UV and an organic matter, these elements ensure that a slight increase in CO2 produced in relation to the environment. This lures the insects to the fly light trap. When the insects are caught in the insect lamp they dry out.

The CRI CRI bug zapper light distinguishes itself by its ultraviolet light. This attracts insects. Once the insects are caught by the bug zapper light or the fly light trap, they can no longer damage the crop.
