Step 1 - Remove debris

We recommend that you adhere to the following step-by-step plan - which has been drawn up by our specialists - when you clean the cultivation gutters during the crop rotation:

Step 2 - Apply cleaner

After the cultivation gutters have been mechanically cleaned, they can be sprayed with a cleaning agent. It is very important here that the necessary exposure time of the agent is observed. The cleaner ensures that organic pollution, such as plant juices and mineral pollution, is loosened. Application of a foaming cleaner is preferred because of its adhesion to the surface of the gutter. Cleaning agents that can be used are:
  • Hortisept clean - this is an alkaline cleaning agent that is applied in a concentration of 1 - 3%.
  • Hortisept clean plus - this is the foaming variant of Hortisept. Due to the foam formation you can visually check where the product has been applied. Application time and concentrations are the same as the non-foaming variant.
  • Floorclean - this is a powerful ecological cleaner for cleaning all water-resistant hard surfaces. This agent is an environmentally friendly alternative. Use a 10% solution.

Step 3 - Rinse

When the application time of the agent has expired, it is time to spray the cultivation gutters. You will see that the cultivation gutters are clean again. Spray the Hortisept Clean (PLUS) after approx. 5 minutes with high pressure (hot water) and the Floorclean after approx. 15 minutes.

Consider using gutter film

Cleaning the cultivation gutters is an important, but time-consuming job during the crop rotation. Would you not like to clean the gutters thoroughly every year? Consider using gutter film during cultivation. Gutter foil ensures that the cleaning of cultivation gutters is in principle no longer necessary. Besides keeping the gutter clean, it also ensures that fungi, bacteria and viruses can develop less quickly. It also prevents unwanted root growth, so that the pressure of infections on the roots is lower. Finally, the gutter has a longer lifespan, because the coating is not affected by fertilizers and aggressive cleaning agents that are used during the crop rotation.
